Assessment and Reporting

Assessment and monitoring is essential to the measurement of pupil progress. At Gateways this assessment is very much based on the individual.

On entry to High School in Upper III, all pupils take a MidYIS (Middle Years Information System) assessment which helps identify their strengths and weaknesses in Mathematics, vocabulary and non-verbal skills. On entry to Lower V (Year 10), pupils take a YELLIS (Year Eleven Information System) test. This helps staff to verify pupil abilities.
