Careers Programme
We offer a comprehensive careers programme to meet individual pupil needs. We have a superbly resourced careers library which also includes information on a range of lifestyle issues. These facilities are available to all pupils and their parents. A team of trained pupil career librarians are on hand at lunchtimes to keep the library up-to-date and can help in researching resources.
Lower and Middle School
The careers programme is introduced in Upper III (Year 7) through the PSHE provision and pupils are introduced to the Careers Library, which is part of the Cox–Simpson Library. Pupils begin to complete progress files by focusing on their qualities and skills and considering what they wish to achieve.
Upper School
There are dedicated careers lessons in both Lower and Upper V. At the end of Lower V, all pupils take advantage of the work experience programme after their school examinations.
To help girls consider their future beyond GCSEs, the Upper V careers programme begins with an interview with the Head of Careers and the Pastoral Head, then an opportunity to meet with a Leeds careers adviser. The Headmistress meets with all Upper V pupils and their parents to discuss their future plans. This individual approach ensures that each girl receives the best possible advice in order to prepare for the future.
