Community Outreach

The aim of Community Outreach at Gateways is to encourage in our pupils an awareness of the world around them, from the school community they experience each day to the local neighbourhood and the much wider community beyond. We aim to use the talents and energies of each and every one of our girls in support of this sense of community.

The House System encourages a sense of community throughout the whole school as girls from Prep to High School come together to compete in such Challenges as House Music Competition.

Involvement in the local community is encouraged in many ways throughout the year and girls often find their own ways of supporting local people.

Awareness of the wider community is developed through our active Amnesty International Group and the busy programme of fundraising for charity which our girls organise each year.

You can support our school charities, The Theo Trust and Hope and Homes for Children, when you shop online without it costing you a penny

Easyfundraising is a fantastic website where you can help to raise funds for The Theo Trust and Hope and Homes for Children just by shopping online. If you already shop with stores such as NEXT, HMV, John Lewis, Amazon, Boots and Debenhams (to name but a few; over 600 retailers are registered), simply visit www.easyfundraising.org.uk and up to 15% of your total purchase cost could be donated to charity at no additional cost to you. In fact, some retailers offer special discounts, so shopping with Easyfundraising could be beneficial to you, as well as our chosen charities. Simply register with the site, choosing ‘Gateways nominated charity’ as the organisation you wish to support.
