Drama

One of the distinguishing attributes that sets a Gateways girl apart from her peers, is the self confidence and poise that she possess. The drama department plays a significant role in this aspect of development.

Drama is very much alive and flourishing at the school and flows through many areas of school life, from school productions to performing in assemblies, exhibitions and public speaking.

From a child's early years, with their first nativity play, right through to the Sixth Form Shakespeare workshops, the drama department plays a key role in developing core communication and performance skills which are now a prerequisit in pursuing a successful career.

When attending a job interview or performing a role within any type of organisation, academic results are only part of the story. What really matters is an individual's ability to confidently communicate and interact with others, in a way which adds value. This is a characteristic which is nurtured by the drama department allowing each individual to blossom and grow, until their full potential is reached.
