Before and after school care

The school offers supervised care outside the normal school hours.

Before-school care, ‘Earlybirds’, commences at 7.30am. Play is supervised in a safe and secure environment. A full breakfast is also available for a cost of £2.00. Children are walked to the classroom for a punctual start of the school day. Attendance at ‘Earlybirds’ is charged at £3.60* per hour for children arriving between 7.30 and 8.00am and £1.80* for arrivals after 8.00am.

After-school care, ‘Sundowners’, is open until 6.30pm. Children are walked from the classroom to ‘Sundowners’ by their teachers and are signed in. Supervisors monitor play in a safe and secure environment and are available to assist with homework if necessary. Tea (sandwiches, fruit and a drink) is served in the dining room to all children at 4pm. Attendance at ‘Sundowners’ is charged at £5.20* per hour.

This flexibility extends to care outside of school terms in our holiday clubs which are available during all half term holidays, for one week at easter and four weeks in the summer in the Gatehouse Nursery.

In addition to holiday care in the Gatehouse Nursery there is a summer club for older children between the ages of 5 and 13 (summer holidays only).  Littlegates children are welcome to join either club depending upon the individual concerned.
