Pupils from Upper II to Sixth Form celebrated The European Day of Languages 2009 with song, dance, balloons, fun and enthusiasm. Lower IVS, donned in the flags of Europe, started the day with an informative and entertaining assembly about the value of learning a foreign language. Upper II and Lower III put their vocal chords to the test by singing ‘The Hello Song’ in 22 different languages and pupils from Upper II to Lower IV took part in a European Passport sticker competition. Taster sessions of Croatian or Polish were offered to girls from Upper III and Lower IV. One of the highlights of the day was the lunchtime Salsa dancing class, led by Mrs Wilson and attended by staff and pupils. A good time was had by all.
