11.12.09Allons au château!
Upper III, Lower IV and Upper IV girls were whisked back in time by the Onatti Theatre Company last Friday when the dashing William Babbington went in search of yet another wife for Henry VIII. The year was 1540 and Manisha Ramesh (Upper IIIW) was called on to help tame William’s stubborn horse as he arrived in France. After an awkward encounter with a French peasant the audience were introduced to the beautiful Catherine, but not before Tamsin Fenn (Upper IVG) had helped
William enter the nearby château. Catherine had the dilemma of choosing a husband from some very life-like portraits. Would it be Monica Seshan (Lower IVS), Leah Spradley (Lower IVS), Holly Tattersall (Upper IVS) or the witty and charming Mr Dutton? Alas, none were chosen, but William was happy as Catherine was destined to become the wife of the wealthy King Henry from England. Of course none of this would have been possible without a little linguistic help from the audience.
