16.01.10Aquaboxes arrive in school next week
We have been supporting the Aquabox scheme in school for the last 15 years and we work together with the Rotary Club of Leeds Elmete to fill and send 15 boxes each year to disaster zones around the world . The local branch of Rotary International, which organises the scheme, fundraises to purchase the boxes which they then deliver to us for pupils in the school to fill with items which will help people affected by disasters to rebuild their communities. The Aquabox, once emptied, is then used with its filtration system to provide clean drinking water for families in the community. 15 Aquaboxes are due in school next week and our Lower Six Community Outreach representatives will be presenting the scheme to High School and Prep School in two separate assemblies.
