The Stella programme

The Stella programme has been set up to ensure that academically able or creatively talented pupils are developed to their full potential. Each subject area has a scheme of work to challenge and extend all pupils whatever their capabilities. In addition, every department is developing resources to enrich the educational experience of those pupils demonstrating a particular aptitude in a given area of the curriculum.

The Stella programme encourages enjoyment of higher knowledge, abstract concepts, thinking skills, problem solving and mathematical skills. The pursuit of excellence is also supported through techniques devised to encourage independent learning for all pupils. A challenging programme continues into the Sixth Form for those applying to the very competitive universities.
