In recent years the Government has called for more formal, structured learning in England's nurseries and playgroups and advocated schools as the best place for this. This is because it offers a head-start to a child's formal education and, with seamless transition, it provides an excellent platform into Reception and Year 1.
How To ApplyChildren in Pre-Reception are eligible to attend Earlybirds & Sundowners before and after school care. No pre-booking is required. They can undertake a variety of activities such as reading, various games, arts and crafts and dressing up.
Daily 7.30am – 8.30am
Supervised breakfast available.
Daily 3.00pm – 6.00pm
A light tea is provided in the dining room at 4.00pm
Pupils will be signed in when they arrive, and parents or nominated carers are asked to sign them out when they leave. This is essential in case of fire or accident.

Children with older siblings still in school may stay in Sundowners free of charge until the end of their sibling’s school day. Those who stay beyond the end of their sibling’s school day will be charged from the end of their own school day.
