U11ABC Rounders v Moorlands (Wednesday 13th June)

U11A – Won 21 – 12.5

U11B – Lost 11-21

U11C – Lost 6.5 – 9.5

This was an impromptu fixture that proved to be one of the best matches of the season so far. We played 6-a-side which meant that everyone was heavily involved in terms of both batting and fielding and it also meant that everyone was switched on throughout the contest! The A team performed superbly well, taking in their form from the tournament they played last week. Jamie Cooper was voted as player of the match but, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration that, anyone on the Gateways team could have potentially won this accolade.

The B team lost but only because the opposition just had 2 or 3 players who could hit the ball a long way! Their fielding was superb though. Tom Newdall was awarded player of the contest here.

The C team, rather like the B team, lost out only due to the opposition just being a little strong offensively.

Our final outing of the season next for the U11As as they look to take on the best U12s in the area at the Cundall Manor invitational. We wish them the best of luck!
