We offer a comprehensive careers programme to meet individual pupil needs.
Lower School
Careers is introduced in Upper 3 (Year 7) through the PSHE provision and pupils are introduced to the Careers Library, which is part of the Cox-Simpson Library.
Pupils begin to complete Progress Files by focusing on their qualities and skills and considering what they wish to achieve.
A Business/Technology Day in Lower 4 allows pupils to take on job roles and produce, market and cost out a product.
Upper School
Information is given to pupils and their parents at critical decision-making times and our school adviser from Leeds Careers Guidance is on hand to give assistance. Individual interviews with the adviser are available in Upper 5.
At the end of Lower 5, all pupils take advantage of the work experience programme after their school examinations. There are dedicated careers lessons in both Lower and Upper 5.

The Sixth Form careers programme includes:
-
Centigrade questionnaire completed to help with Higher Education choices

Joint programme of lunchtime talks with Leeds Grammar School on various career areas

Resources
We have a superbly resourced careers library and have recently added a connexions access point which offers information on a range of lifestyle issues. These facilities are available to all pupils and their parents. A team of trained pupil career librarians are on hand at lunchtimes to keep the library up-to-date and can help in researching resources. A further set of resources is available for the Sixth Form in their Study.
