 The
Gateways Pre-Prep is an integral part of the
Preparatory School with its own distinct identity.
Unlike the rest of the school it is
co-educational.
Children learn best when they are relaxed and
confident in their environment. At Gateways we
make the pupils’ personal and social development
our highest priority so that they gain the
independence and self-esteem so crucial to making
progress. A team of learning assistants supports
our highly qualified and experienced teaching
staff.
The learning programme for our three to five year
olds is delivered through the six areas of
learning of the foundation stage curriculum. When
they move into Key Stage 1 (at age 5+) they follow
an enhanced National Curriculum, making full use
of the school’s facilities. By working
individually with each child we ensure that varied
needs are met at an appropriate level.
Education, especially in the early years, is a
partnership between parents and school. At
Gateways we value our excellent relationships with
parents. This partnership begins with your first
