 The
two Key Stage 1 classes are called Transition
(Year 1, age 5-6) and Lower I (Year 2, age 6-7).
In Transition children are encouraged to adapt to
a more formal approach to learning and in Lower I
they enjoy being the eldest members of the
Pre-Prep. During both of these years the children
build on their skills and become more independent
in their learning.
 At
the end of Key Stage 1, we help the parents of
boys choose their son’s next school and ensure
that the girls make a smooth transition to the
juniors here at Gateways.
