Gateways Early Years lands prestigious award finalist position

Our Early Years department recently made it into the National Finals for ‘Best Early Years In School’ in the annual Nursery World Awards for the second year running.

This means that Gateways is recognised as one of the top 3 providers in the UK for Early Years within a school setting.  Additionally, Reception teacher Miss Bethany Hayter also made it into the finals for Best Newcomer, eventually coming runner up to the winner in that category.

The Nursery World Awards are an annual awards ceremony to recognise the best of the best of the Nursery and Early Years offerings throughout the UK.  Every year there are hundreds of nominations for the prestigious awards, with each category being whittled down to a final shortlist.  This year, the awards were held virtually in February 2021 due to Coronavirus restrictions and Gateways Early Years were lucky enough to make the final three for ‘Best Early Years Provision in School’.

Our Early Years provision made the final three in both the 2019 and 2020 awards!

Gateways Headteacher, Dr Tracy Johnson, says about the accolade,

“We are delighted to be placed in the final three once again for the best Early Years provision in school and in addition for the best newcomer for our Reception teacher Bethany Hayter. This award recognises the high standard of our Early Years provision and dedication of our staff to ensure Gateways offers the best possible start for children from 2 years old”.
