Gateways School is on a single site in a beautiful location in Harewood village, north of Leeds. At Gateways we educate young minds for the future they will experience. Every child is known individually, is valued for their strengths and is supported to overcome their weaknesses. Our aim is to serve the needs of our pupils while appreciating parental aspiration. Our small class sizes allow us to tailor to the educational journey so that each child gains a personal, competitive advantage for success in the wider world.
Gateways is a small school as a matter of choice. We believe in the numerous benefits that come with our size. Investment into keeping class sizes small, our subject offering wide and our facilities up to date is of paramount importance at Gateways.
Gateways prides itself on the education of the whole person, and is proud to be regularly placed in the top ten schools nationally for Value Added. Last year, Gateways High School ranked first place nationally for Valued Added in GCSE Science and PE and 7th place across all GCSE subjects.
The reason for this is simple. Small class sizes and a focus on the individual lead to exceptional value added. This is further demonstrated by the fact that pupils from Gateways, a non-selective school, often achieve results which outperform surrounding schools that are academically selective.
The school has ambitious plans for the development of its infrastructure and the successful individual will play a key role in developing those plans and driving them forward.
