Nursery - Gateways School

NEXT STEPS Early Years Ages 3-5

Why the Gatehouse?

With unlimited use of the whole school facilities and mature staff who understand and appreciate the needs of two year olds through their own time and experience as parents, the children simply could not be better provided for or looked after.

How to apply

Welcome to the Gatehouse Nursery

Welcome to the Gatehouse Nursery; a purpose built stand-alone facility for two year olds where your child can learn, explore and investigate in a secure and nurturing environment. Our dedicated and mature staff work in close partnership with you to understand and enhance the development of your child as an individual learner. Nursery children are very much a part of the wider Gateways community, sharing facilities and interacting with other pupils easing transitions up the school. We warmly invite you to visit the Gatehouse Nursery and see for yourself what we can offer your little one.

A Day in the life of ...

Dale in Nursery

08:30am

Mummy drops me off at the Gatehouse Nursery where I am greeted by my Key Practitioner Mrs Drake. I hang up my coat and bag, Mrs Drake helps me if I ask her to. I post the hand with my name on it in the postbox to let everyone know that I have arrived.

9:45am

This is creative time. At the moment we are making Father's Day cards. We use our hands and the paint to make a crab shape for the front of the card.

11:15am

My favourite time of day - lunch time! We put our aprons on and then hold onto the rings on the walkerdile, ready to walk to lunch. We eat our lunch in the main school Dining Room.

12:00pm

After lunch, most days I have a nap. I take Black Sheep and Brown Monkey with me as I always sleep with them.

2:00pm

Every day we go for a Toddle Waddle around the grounds. We explore nature and look at how the seasons change. Today we are looking for creepy crawlies.

5:30pm

We have story time before Mummy comes to pick me up. Mrs Drake always tells her what I have done and what I have eaten and how good I have been!
