Why Prep School?

It is well known that the benefits of an independent education are cumulative and that they make most difference to outcomes for children the earlier the investment in them is made. The small class sizes in our Prep School mean that each and every child is well known by their teachers.

A Day in the life of ...

a Prep pupil in Prep School

9:05am

Form registration is at 8.40am then today my first lesson is maths. We learn in such fun ways and my teacher explains things really well. We have been dividing large numbers with remainders – I loved using lolly sticks to help me and finding the answers was so much easier.

10:05am

After maths, it’s time for computing. We are learning how to program on Scratch – I love experimenting with different controls. We’ve learnt how to use multiple sprites and I’ve created some really complex codes. It’s so much fun seeing what all my friends create too!

11.05am

Break time! Even if it’s wet and muddy, we pop on our coats and wellies and get some fresh air. We have so much to do outside; we can play on the trim trail, use the equipment, run on the field, play football and use the courts.

11.20am

The morning ends with science; it is one of my favourite lessons. I love learning about the world and carrying out experiments. Today we are planning our next investigation. We worked as a class to create our method and we’re all ready to start investigating next lesson.

12.15am

At lunch, Chef Wayne and his team create some amazing food for us all - I have a gluten free option made for me. After lunch today I have my singing lesson - I'm working towards my grade 2 exam. I recently sang in assembly with my friend; I was very nervous but felt so proud afterwards!

1.25pm

After play time it’s back to lessons and we’ve been having so much fun in English recently. Learning about The Twits is great – we’ve played some fun pranks in lessons with Ms Stewart and have been writing all about them. I’m really proud that I have earned my pen license this year!

4.00pm

Today I'm going to after school club (Sundowners). We get to go on the laptops, draw, colour and watch films. We get some snacks too! It’s a really fun way to end of the day. Today I enjoyed building kinnex with my friends.
