In recent years the Government has called for more formal, structured learning in England's nurseries and playgroups and advocated schools as the best place for this. This is because it offers a head-start to a child's formal education and with seamless transition, it provides an excellent platform into Reception and Year 1.
How To ApplyChildren in Pre-Reception are eligible to attend Earlybirds & Sundowners before and after school care. No pre-booking is required. They can undertake a variety of activities such as reading, various games, arts and crafts and dressing up.
Daily 7.30am – 8.30am
Supervised breakfast is served between 7.30am – 8am. Pupils in Earlybirds who wish to have breakfast will have their breakfast taken to them in Littlegates.
Daily 3.00pm – 6.00pm
A light tea is provided at around 4.15pm
Pupils will be signed in and out of Sundowners by a member of staff. Parents and guardians are requested to inform school via email if anyone other than themselves is collecting their child/ren.

Children with older siblings still in school may stay in Sundowners free of charge until the end of their sibling’s school day. Those who stay beyond the end of their sibling’s school day will be charged from the end of their own school day.
