Upper 4 - Gateways School

Upper 4

In this section:

In Upper 4, pupils are faced with their first real decisions regarding their next educational steps. The Careers programme here is designed to support GCSE choices by ensuring that pupils are informed, are beginning to analyse their own strengths and interests, and can begin to formulate decisions based on these factors. Pupils may begin to develop career interests and map these against subject choices.

This is delivered through:

  • Careers lessons
  • Moving-Up Day looking at GCSE choices and decision-making processes
  • GCSE Information Evening
  • National Careers Week activities
  • One-to-one guidance meetings with school Careers Adviser, if required
